Project Supervisor
As the Programme Leader for the ''MSc Hydrography'' at Plymouth University, I have a duty to support students within their project work. This is more so when projects are conducted in collaboration with third parties.
The GE.N.ESIS Project is far more ambitious than most projects undertaken by students and involved such effort exerted in its planning that I felt the University, with its focus for enterprise and internationalism, should give the Project its full suport.
Personally, I am enthused by the Project and keen that the data obtained is ''fit for purpose'' and might benefit the Greek Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities. I am therefore very happy to be a member of the research team in Methoni.
Exploring the warm shallow waters of Methoni Bay is far more pleasurable than the cold waters of my home town / country.

Αισθάνομαι περήφανος που σε αυτό το ενάλιο πολιτιστικό ταξίδι στους αιώνες και τις χιλιετίες έχω δίπλα μου ανθρώπους Άξιους. Το Πρόγραμμα ΓΕ.Ν.ΕΣΙΣ δε θα μπορούσε να πραγματοποιηθεί χωρίς αυτούς.
Ευχαριστώ θερμά το Πανεπιστήμιο του Plymouth και ιδιαίτερα τον επικεφαλής του προγράμματος ''MSc Hydrography'' Gwyn Jones για την υποστήριξη του ΓΕ.Ν.ΕΣΙΣ, τους χορηγούς, το προσωπικό της Εφορείας Εναλίων Αρχαιοτήτων και ιδιαίτερα τον Διευθυντή της έρευνας της Μεθώνης καταδυόμενο αρχαιολόγο Ηλία Σπονδύλη που από το πρώτο λεπτό πίστεψε στο Πρόγραμμα και τη σύζυγο και συνεργάτη μου Κωνσταντινιά που για άλλο ένα ταξίδι βρίσκεται στο πλευρό μου.
When first initiating the GE.N.ESIS project, I could never imagine the hidden underwater cultural resources off Methoni. It is now our duty to highlight and protect this cultural heritage.
This underwater cultural journey through the millennia, would never be true without the support of Excellent people. Many thanks go to Plymouth University and especially Gwyn Jones ('MSc Hydrography' Plymouth University Programme Leader) for his invaluable support and guidance through the project, as well as the staff of the Greek Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities and especially the project Archaeological Director Elias Spondylis who had faith in the project undertaking from its very beginning. I can never thank enough my wife Dina who, once again, tirelessly stood by my side during another challenging exploration journey.

Συμμετέχω στο Πρόγραμμα ΓΕ.Ν.ΕΣΙΣ ως επαγγελματίας νοσηλεύτρια και στα πλαίσια των αναγκών για Υγιεινή και Ασφάλεια.
Αποτελεί μεγάλη πρόκληση ο σχεδιασμός και η πρόβλεψη των αναγκών για Υγιεινή και Ασφάλεια αυτών που συμμετέχουν στο Πρόγραμμα, όντας σε ένα ιδιαίτερο περιβάλλον όπως είναι το μικρό σκάφος RHIB, με μηχανήματα, στη θάλασσα, με ό,τι αυτό συνεπάγεται, υπό ακραίες περιβαλλοντικές συνθήκες λόγω καλοκαιριού.
Εξάλλου, η καταγραφή των δραστηριοτήτων και των ιδιαιτεροτήτων μιας τέτοιας έρευνας είναι μια νέα ''εξερεύνηση'' και για μένα.
As a professional nurse and administrator, my project assignment is HSE. The project's Risk Management and the Risk Assessment for the project's offshore fieldwork was a real challenge for me, due to the unconventional operations of our RHIBs which were fully loaded with instruments and people, under the summer sun. All my efforts to deal with these difficulties were my personal exploration journey.
